Job summary

Knowles Precision Devices is seeking a skilled welder to perform TIG and Laser welds on thin gauge steel and aluminum, reading blueprints, and ensuring weld integrity. You will measure parts with calipers and micrometers, set up fixtures, and operate welding and flame-cutting tools.

Qualifications

• Proficient in TIG welding of thin gauge sheet steel and aluminum.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and welding callouts from designs.
• Knowledge of metals and alloy characteristics.
• Familiar with calipers, micrometers, and scales for precise measurements.
• Commitment to safety protocols and use of PPE.

Responsibilities

• Perform quality welds using TIG and/or Laser processes.
• Knowledge of metals and alloy characteristics.
• Read and understand blueprints and welding callouts in designs.
• Use various measuring methods and tools such as calipers, micrometers, and scales.
• Operate manual welding equipment and flame-cutting equipment such as oxyacetylene torch.
• Conduct assessments to verify critical weld requirements are met.
• Understand fixturing and use of tools to achieve proper fitment of parts prior to welding.
• Communicate effectively to work in a team environment to ensure safe and efficient work and help drive continual improvement.
