Job summary

Jetstream of Houston, a Federal Signal subsidiary, is seeking a hands-on technician to assist test apparatus design and maintenance in a fast-paced lab environment. You will assemble prototype waterblast components, operate testing equipment, and ensure safety and data quality.

The role requires reading detailed drawings, using measurement tools, and coordinating with the R&D team. Monday–Friday 3:00 PM–11:00 PM shift, with competitive benefits and a strong safety culture.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or 2 years related experience.
• 2+ years mechanical or test lab experience preferred.
• Experience with data acquisition software/hardware a plus (LabVIEW).
• Ability to read manufacturing and assembly drawings.
• Strong tool-handling and measurement skills.
• Proficient with MS Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Assist team with test apparatus design and prototype assembly.
• Perform routine maintenance on equipment and tools.
• Record test data neatly and timely per directions.
• Manage testing supplies, tools, and inventories.
• Set up and operate measuring devices (pressure transducers, thermocouples, sensors).
• Operate ultra-high pressure pumps to support production testing.
