Job summary

Jetstream Of Houston, a Federal Signal subsidiary, seeks a hands-on technician for a varied test-lab role operating in the PM shift. You will assist with design, assembly, and testing of ultra-high pressure waterblasting components, perform equipment maintenance, and support safety improvements while maintaining accurate inventory and test data records.

The position requires reading drawings, working with data acquisition tools, and CAD skills.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in related field or 2 years of related experience.
• Minimum 2 years of mechanical or test lab experience.
• Experience with data acquisition software and hardware, especially National Instruments LabVIEW.
• Ability to work without supervision.
• Ability to read and understand detailed manufacturing drawings and assembly drawings.
• Knowledge of basic hand tools pertaining to mechanical assembly.
• Ability to read and understand hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical schematics.
• 3D CAD experience, Solid Edge is a plus.
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist design and assembly of prototype ultra-high pressure waterblasting components.
• Perform routine maintenance on equipment.
• Improve test apparatus and safety procedures.
• Follow inventory procedures for accurate accounting to R&D accounts.
• Manage testing supplies, tools, and fuel inventories.
• Operate measuring devices like pressure transducers, thermocouples, and laser and magnetic speed sensors.
• Record test data neatly and timely.
• Maintain test area organization and tool storage.
• Operate ultra-high pressure pumps to support production testing of waterblast tools.
• Perform other duties, assignments and special projects as required.
• Must be willing to work Monday - Friday 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM.
