Job summary

Indra Group USA in Overland Park, KS, seeks an SMT rework technician to perform rework and repair on PCBAs used in navigation aids and radios. You will remove, replace, and repair SMT components with precision soldering, microscopes, and inspection tools in a controlled environment.

The role requires at least 18 months of hands-on SMT rework or electronic repair experience, with IPC-A-610/J-STD-001 certification preferred.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required.
18+ months hands-on SMT rework, soldering, or electronic repair experience.
IPC-A-610 and/or IPC J-STD-001 certification preferred.
Experience with microscopes, hot air rework stations, soldering irons, and other electronic repair equipment.
Ability to read and interpret schematics, assembly drawings, and work instructions.

Responsibilities

Perform SMT rework and repair on PCBAs in accordance with IPC and company standards.
Remove and replace surface mount components including resistors, capacitors, diodes, integrated circuits, connectors, transistors, voltage regulators, and microchips.
Conduct precision soldering and desoldering using microscopes and inspection tools.
Repair solder defects including bridges, opens, insufficient solder, lifted leads, and other workmanship issues.
Maintain accurate records of rework activities and completed repairs.
Ensure all reworked assemblies meet quality, reliability, and workmanship standards.
Support production schedules by completing rework assignments in a timely manner.
