Job summary

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems in Salt Lake City, UT, seeks a Precision Electromechanical Assembler 2 for the SMT process. The role operates on a 3pm–12:30am schedule (9x80 when available), performing setup, machine calibration, component handling, and quality inspections to ensure compliant PCBA manufacturing.

The ideal candidate will have 2+ years in electronics manufacturing, BOM/schematic literacy, and the ability to work in a team with sharp attention to detail.

Qualifications

• High School diploma/GED with 2+ years related experience.
• 1 year of hands-on electronics/SMT production experience.
• Able to work Second Shift 3pm-12:30am and achieve J-STD-001.
• Experience reading BOMs and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Machine Setup & Operation: Program, calibrate, and operate SMT equipment including printers, pick-and-place, and reflow ovens.
• Material Handling: Load components, reels, and feeders with correct part numbers and polarity.
• Quality Inspection: Use AOI systems or microscope to inspect for misaligned parts and defects.
• Troubleshooting & Maintenance: Clear jams, perform routine cleanings and replace worn parts.
• Documentation & Compliance: Follow IPC standards and log production metrics.
