Job summary

Martin Sprocket & Gear, Inc. is seeking a Shipping/Warehouse Associate to join our team in Sacramento. You will locate products, verify orders, and prepare items for shipment while safely operating forklifts and narrow-aisle pickers.

Qualifications

• Basic math, clear communication and the ability to read and understand instructions in English.
• Lifting up to 50 lbs with assistance for heavier loads.
• Team-oriented, dependable attendance and adherence to timekeeping procedures.
• Comfortable standing in a non-climate-controlled environment for the shift.
• Basic understanding of warehouse functions is preferred but not required.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to locate correct shelf locations.

Responsibilities

• Product selection: Accurately locate and select products from warehouse shelves or floor locations, following labeling or stamping guidelines.
• Order verification: Verify picked and packed items against order requirements to ensure accuracy.
• Packing for shipment: Pick, pack and prepare various machined products for shipment, including boxing, labeling, and securing items.
• Equipment operation: Operate powered narrow-aisle pickers safely and efficiently to retrieve products from different shelf heights. Operate forklift to move pallets on and off trucks.
• Safe handling: Wear all required PPE, practice safe lifting techniques, and seek assistance for items over 50 lbs.
• Cleanliness and safety: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area and operate equipment following safety protocols.
• Cross-departmental support: Collaborate with other departments or assist in different areas as needed to support overall operations.
