Job summary

GTRJOBS is seeking a detail-oriented Saw Operator for the 1st shift. You will operate saw machinery, perform routine maintenance, and ensure quality control of materials and parts. Strong work ethic and attention to detail required to work independently or with a team.

Starting pay ranges from $18 to $22 per hour, based on experience. Schedule is Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM. This role involves standing for long periods and handling up to 50 pounds as needed.

Qualifications

• Detail-oriented with strong focus on accuracy and quality.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints or specs.
• Capable of handling and operating saw equipment safely and efficiently.
• Willingness to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Read job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements.
• Select and install blades on machines using hand tools.
• Position guides, stops, holding blocks, or fixtures to secure workpieces.
• Set controls to adjust speed, feed rate, and blade tensions.
• Position workpieces against stops or align layout marks with dies or blades.
• Monitor machine operation to detect defects or malfunctions.
• Measure workpiece dimensions to ensure accuracy.
• Remove burrs, sharp edges, rust, or scale from workpieces.
• Ensure completeness of parts per print before advancing to production.
• Perform minor machine maintenance such as oiling machines, dies, or workpieces.
• Load/unload steel, verify material accuracy against orders.
• Maintain a clean work area and inventory of steel materials.
