Job summary

The role involves operating belt and disc sanders, inspecting materials for defects, and adjusting machines to meet precise finish standards. You will work closely with production teammates to maintain safety, quality, and on-time delivery while following work orders and blueprints.

Qualifications

• Heavy lifting is required.
• Prolonged standing and repetitive motion in a production setting.
• Use of PPE as required.

Responsibilities

• Operate sanding equipment (e.g., belt sanders, disc sanders) to smooth surfaces of products.
• Inspect materials for defects or imperfections before and after sanding to ensure quality standards are met.
• Adjust sanding tools and machinery to achieve the appropriate level of finish and smoothness.
• Follow specific work orders and blueprints to complete sanding tasks as per specifications.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following proper safety procedures and guidelines.
• Monitor and report equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs.
• Assist in the setup and calibration of sanding machines for different projects.
• Perform quality checks throughout the sanding process to ensure high-quality output.
