Job summary

Magellan Aerospace, Glendale specializes in precision sand castings and is seeking a Carousel Operator to join the team. You will produce all types of industrial sand molds using a continuous mixer, working with patterns, chills, sleeves, and foundry equipment to uphold high casting quality.

The role requires attention to detail, the ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and the stamina to stand for long periods while following precise work instructions in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform quality checks on molds.
• Follow work instructions accurately and safely.
• Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Observe plant safety rules and keep work area 6S compliant.
• Retrieve and prepare pattern boxes and sleeves for molds.
• Operate the continuous mixer and load sand into patterns.
• Place chills and vents in cores; finish mold faces with a straight edge.
• Position patterns on conveyor; strip molds using rollover machine.
• Transport cores and materials safely around the plant.
• Perform minor preventive maintenance and record test data for quality checks.
