Job summary

Rohrer Corporation is seeking a skilled Sample Press Operator to support die-cut operations in Huntley, IL. You will determine sample requirements from request packets, measure depths to 1/32 inch, back drill simple/moderate molds, and operate high-speed drills to vent molds, plus set-up and run the sample press.

You will fabricate assists, cut sheets, prepare samples, evaluate finished pieces, trim samples with lasers, and ensure correct shipping labels and packaging.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required and ability to read, interpret and apply drawings/instructions.
• Excellent reading and mathematical skills are needed to measure and inspect samples.
• Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings and operate measuring tools.

Responsibilities

• Using sample request packets to determine die cut information, sample count, raw material type, and shipping details.
• Measure depth to within 1/32 inch.
• Back drill simple and moderate molds.
• Use high-speed air drill to vent molds.
• Set up and operate the sample press.
• Fabricate handmade assists to simulate production parts.
• Cut appropriate size sheets from raw material rolls and press to obtain samples.
• Evaluate quality of finished pieces.
• Set up a laser to trim samples to engineered drawings.
• Hand-cut samples to required size as needed.
• Prepare samples for shipping with correct information.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and follow ISO-9000 standards.
