Job summary

SM&E Manufacturing in Saint Petersburg, FL is seeking a Quality Inspector to measure and verify mechanical assemblies against engineering drawings. The role is a daytime, Mon-Fri shift with overtime as needed, requiring meticulous attention to detail and adherence to AS9100 standards.

You will use calipers, height gauges, and CMMs along with borescopes to inspect parts to tolerances of +/- .0005 inches. Strong reading of GD&T and ability to read complex drawings are essential for daily

Qualifications

• 3 to 5 years of experience required.
• Strong understanding of AS9100, ITAR, CUI, CMMC, DPAS, DFARS requirements.
• CMM programming and operation.
• Ability to read and interpret the requirements of drawings GD&T.
• Experience using mechanical measuring tools (electronic height gauges, calipers, gauge pins, etc.).
• Excellent multi-tasking and deadline-driven.
• Ability to collaborate with peers and work independently.
• Experience inspecting machined parts with tight tolerances up to +/- .0005".

Responsibilities

• Inspect mechanical assemblies and sub-components with precision measuring equipment.
• Interpret complex engineering drawings, tolerances and functional requirements.
• Verify dimensions against customer prints and flow-downs.
• Collaborate daily with operations to ensure product conformance.
• Maintain clean, safe work area and documentation.
• Compile digital inspection packages as required by customer.
• Operate inspection equipment safely per SME standards.
• Support additional hours as required.
