Job summary

Reliance Gear Corporation is seeking a quality-focused inspector to own dimensional verification across first piece, in-process, and final inspections. You will inspect incoming materials, approve outgoing orders, and translate prints into robust inspection plans on a fast-paced shop floor.

The role requires blueprint reading, calibration experience, and proficiency with Word/Excel/Outlook. Bevel gear experience is a plus as you support PPAP/ISIR activities and maintain audit-ready records.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of manufacturing and/or quality assurance experience.
• Skilled at blueprint reading and applying precision measurement tools.
• Competence in basic math and geometry.
• Proven calibration experience (required).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Experience with bevel gear manufacturing (preferred).
• Comfort working on a fast-paced production floor in a precision environment.

Responsibilities

• Own dimensional verification: first piece, in-process, and final inspections.
• Safeguard the supply chain by inspecting incoming materials and approving outgoing orders.
• Read blueprints, specs, and control plans to translate requirements into inspection plans.
• Program and execute CMM routines on manual and CNC systems (PC-DMIS / Modus preferred).
• Operate a full suite of instruments: micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, dial indicators, CMMs.
• Maintain calibration and accurate records; contain nonconformances and aid corrective actions.
• Support PPAP/ISIR packages, capability studies, and first article documentation.
• Keep quality files, reports, and customer documentation organized and audit-ready.
• Contribute to internal audits and supplier quality activities.
