Job summary

Responsibilities

• Inspect or test materials for conformance to specs.
• Measure dimensions using rulers, calipers, gauges, or micrometers.
• Read blueprints and manuals to determine procedures and tools required.
• Record inspection data and mark items with grade or status.
• Notify supervisors of production problems.
• Discard items not meeting specifications.
• Collect samples for testing.
• Write inspection reports describing results.
• Compare colors, shapes, textures, or grades to standards.
• Other duties as assigned.
