Job summary

Cummins Inc. is seeking a Shop Technician to provide front line quality support, collect and analyze data to improve product quality, and collaborate with QA, manufacturing and engineering teams.

Responsibilities include engine inspections, dimensional checks with precision equipment, and repair work on-line. Candidates should be able to operate forklifts and other shop equipment, maintain safety standards, and participate in improvement projects.

Qualifications

• Must stand or sit for extended periods.
• Knowledge of assembly process and product.
• Experience operating forklifts and shop tools.

Responsibilities

• Engine inspections at end-of-line for critical features.
• Repair defects found in final inspection.
• Scan engines at stage load for shipping support.
• Conduct customer satisfaction audits and respond to findings.
• Engine teardown and component salvage activities.
• Inventory management and non-conforming material disposition.
• Run engine tests in audit cells and PVA teardowns.
• Perform on-line engine repairs without disrupting assembly.
• Document findings and repairs using INSPECT/CMES.
