Job summary

Astra in the San Francisco Bay Area is seeking a Quality Control Technician to ensure dimensional accuracy of machined parts. You will inspect parts, apply GD&T, and program CMMs and VMMs using MODUS and CMM Manager, in a team-driven shop environment.

This hands-on, individual contributor role requires 2+ years of QC experience, proficiency with micrometers, calipers, and surface plates, and a commitment to traceability and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in quality control inspection.
• Able to perform dimensional inspection with CMMs or hand tools.
• Proficient with GD&T and reading technical drawings.
• Experience programming CMMs with MODUS and CMM Manager.
• Familiar with calibration and traceability.

Responsibilities

• Inspect finished machined, welded, and coated parts against drawings.
• Program CMMs and VMMs using MODUS and CMM Manager.
• Use precision measuring tools including micrometers, calipers, surface plates.
• Document inspection results and manage non-conformities.
• Follow procedures and contribute to shop improvement.
