Job summary

MS Companies is seeking a Quality Inspector in San Antonio, TX to join a climate-controlled quality lab. You will perform visual and dimensional inspections to verify components meet drawings and specifications using precision tools, documenting nonconformances per procedures.

The role requires reading engineering drawings, GD&T knowledge, and the ability to use micrometers, calipers, CMMs, and related instruments.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and inspection instructions.
• Demonstrated knowledge of GD&T.
• Ability to properly use micrometers, calipers, height gauges, indicating micrometers, optical comparators, coordinate measuring machines (CMMs), vision systems, templates, and fixtures.
• Ability to perform accurate visual and dimensional inspections and recognize conditions that do not meet requirements.
• Ability to read, write, count, and complete inspection documentation accurately.
• Strong attention to detail, hand-eye coordination, reliability, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Inspect components, gauges, and finished parts according to approved instructions, engineering drawings, and specification sheets.
• Measure part dimensions using the appropriate precision instruments, templates, and fixtures to verify conformance to requirements.
• Perform visual and dimensional inspections required for process qualification.
• Record inspection results clearly and complete process route cards, nonconformance reports, tags, and other required documentation.
• Identify discrepancies and communicate inspection concerns promptly so the appropriate follow-up action can be taken.
• Use SharePoint to search for, retrieve, and reference current control plans, blueprints, and gauge drawings during daily inspection activities.
