Job summary

Chipton-Ross is seeking a Quality Test Specialist 1 for a contract opportunity in El Segundo, CA. The role involves performing precision inspections on machined and assembled parts, using CMMs and manual tools, and interpreting drawings and GD&T for conformance.

The position requires experience with articulated arm and bridge-style CMMs, and reading engineering drawings per ASME Y14.5. The work hours are full-time on first shift, with potential OT.

Qualifications

• Experience reading engineering drawings and GD&T symbols (ASME Y14.5).
• Ability to operate and program CMMs and manual measuring tools.
• Capable of following documented inspection procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform precision inspection of machined, fabricated, and assembled components to verify conformance to drawings and quality standards.
• Use height gauges, dial indicators, micrometers, CMMs to measure critical dimensions and assess part quality.
• Interpret blueprints, specifications, GD&T, and inspection plans.
• Identify and document defects, deviations, and out-of-tolerance conditions and communicate findings.
• Maintain a clean, organized inspection area and support process improvement.
