Job summary

Hydro, Inc. in Georgia seeks a first-shift Pump Mechanic to lead mechanical restoration of horizontal and vertical pumps.

You will interpret blueprints, plan disassembly and reassembly, and perform precise tolerances with micrometers and calipers in an in-person industrial shop. You will operate cranes and forklifts, inspect components, document results, and ensure safe handling of large rotating equipment.

Qualifications

  • Disassemble, inspect, repair, and reassemble large pumps and rotating equipment.
  • Read blueprints/schematics to determine procedures for pump assembly/disassembly.
  • Maintain strict tolerances and document inspection results.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose issues and perform complete disassembly, inspection, repair, and reassembly of large pumps and rotating equipment
  • Interpret blueprints/schematic drawings to determine procedures and construct foundations for pump assembly and disassembly
  • Operate manual, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electric tools to carry out work
  • Verify dimensions with micrometers, calipers, gauges; document inspection results
  • Maintain strict tolerances and control precision throughout reassembly
  • Use overhead cranes and forklifts for safe movement and rigging
