Job summary

TIC - The Industrial Company in Port Arthur, TX seeks a Pipe Welder to plan, lay out, weld, install, test and repair pipe systems in accordance with plans, specifications, welding codes and industry standards.

You will coordinate with field crews, position weld setups, perform precise welds, lay out and assemble piping to production and safety standards, and assist with prefabrication and rigging as needed. Candidates may need to provide their own tools and have a valid U.S. driver license.

Qualifications

• Ability to pass pre-access drug and alcohol testing
• Observe and comply with safety and project rules
• Must have required tools
• May require U.S. Driver License

Responsibilities

• Plan, diagram and lay-out for pipe welder’s work
• Coordinate with field labor crew for efficient installations
• Position the weld set up, fit the piping and perform welds with high precision
• Lay-out, and assemble pipes accurately according to standards
• Make welding repairs and address substandard welds
• Assist with Pre-Fabrication layout or installation
• Assist with rigging of material
• Operate welding-related equipment
• Estimate sizes, distances, and quantities for tasks
• Inspect work for compliance and corrective actions
