Job summary

Rocket EMS is seeking a Touch-Up/Rework Technician on the second shift to diagnose, repair, and rework PCBAs and mechanical assemblies to meet IPC workmanship standards. You will use soldering tools, microscopes, and inspection gear while following documented procedures.

Primary duties include rework of SMT and through-hole parts, interpreting engineering drawings, and ensuring ESD compliance. Team collaboration with Manufacturing, Test, Quality, and Engineering is essential.

Qualifications

  • Experience soldering and reworking electronic assemblies.
  • Ability to inspect under a microscope for fine-pitch components.
  • Ability to read and interpret assembly documentation and drawings.
  • Familiarity with ESD handling practices.

Responsibilities

  • Perform component-level rework and touch-up on PCBAs, including SMT and through-hole components.
  • Remove and replace electronic components using soldering irons and hot air rework stations.
  • Repair lifted pads, damaged traces, solder bridges and workmanship defects.
  • Perform wire modifications and engineering changes per documentation.
  • Interpret assembly drawings, schematics, BOMs and work instructions.
  • Use microscopes and inspection equipment to verify repair quality.
  • Conduct mechanical rework and hardware replacements as needed.
  • Document rework activity in manufacturing systems or travelers.
  • Support debug and test teams by troubleshooting assembly failures.
