Qualifications

• Entry-level painting experience, completion of a formal painting or coatings program (technical school, apprenticeship, or equivalent) preferred.
• Ability to successfully complete Vermeer Paint Training Program.
• Ability to learn and perform hands on spray application using HVLP and/or electrostatic systems; set up spray guns and troubleshoot defects.
• Readiness to measure and document coating quality using WFT and DFT gauges and complete required records.
• Strong habits in surface preparation including cleaning/degreasing, scuffing and masking per SOP.
• Ability to perform lifting, reaching, bending and working in confined spaces while maintaining safety and quality.

Responsibilities

• Apply primer and topcoat to treated metal parts per quality standards.
• Prepare surfaces by cleaning, degreasing, mechanical scuffing, and masking per print and SOP.
• Operate and maintain paint-line equipment, perform PM and safe changeovers.
• Mix and adjust coatings by weight/volume and check viscosity, considering temperature/humidity.
• Document coating quality using WFT and DFT gauges and repair defects as needed.
• Inspect parts during painting and communicate issues to cross-shift partners.
• Perform tasks requiring standing, lifting and bending while following safety procedures.
