Job summary

Umicore is seeking a production technician to set up, monitor, and troubleshoot manufacturing machines used for infrared optical lenses and components. You will measure key dimensions with calipers and micrometers, adjust equipment for optimal parameters, and inspect final parts to ensure they meet customer specifications.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED (or equivalent) with 0–3 months experience or training; CNC experience is a plus, and reading blueprints is essential.

Responsibilities

• Executes assigned tasks in General Production following SOPs and safety/quality requirements.
• Maintains accuracy and completeness of records and transactions.
• Recognizes issues and supports continuous improvement of work procedures.
• Supports colleagues and responds to stakeholder requests in a timely, professional manner.
• Maintains accurate documentation and records in line with policies and procedures.
• Escalates issues, risks, and deviations promptly to supervisor and follows through on corrective actions.
