Job summary

Infleqtion in Louisville, KY, is seeking a Senior Precision Assembler to build sub-assemblies and complete products for its commercial line. The role requires manual dexterity, visual inspection skills, and the ability to follow safety processes across mechanical, electrical, and optical systems.

You will own builds from kit readiness to final handoff, collaborate with engineering to standardize methods, and support root-cause analysis.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in a technical field and 5+ years of relevant hands-on experience in precision assembly or related high-reliability hardware environment.
• Experience with at least three of the following: precision optical assembly, fiber handling, laser systems, vacuum hardware, electro-mechanical assembly, precision metrology, wafer handling, or cleanroom production.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, GD&T, BOMs, travelers, schematics, and inspection plans.
• Experience using structured build documentation, nonconformance processes, change control, and production quality systems.
• Comfort with clean room practices and working in clean rooms.
• Familiarity with optical surface quality specs: MIL-PRF-13830B and ISO10110-7.
• Experience with inspection against technical drawings including GD&T tolerancing.
• Good dexterity to assemble small components into sub-assemblies.
• Proficient in MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Independently perform complex, multi-step assembly processes for optical, vacuum, mechanical, and electrical assemblies using drawings and engineering judgment.
• Own assigned builds from kit readiness through final inspection, test support, documentation, and handoff to next stage.
• Execute new or low-volume builds where documentation may be incomplete while maintaining quality and safety.
• Partner with engineering to translate drawings and prototypes into repeatable build methods and inspection criteria.
• Maintain clean and safe work area through housekeeping activities.
• Act as a quality gate for assigned builds ensuring workmanship and inspection results meet requirements.
• Troubleshoot assembly, inspection, test, tooling, and process issues across multiple workstreams; propose corrective actions.
• Support root-cause analysis and verification of process fixes.
• Demonstrate advanced proficiency across multiple production processes and cross-train quickly.
• Train and mentor Level I/II technicians on build methods, inspection standards, and cleanroom behavior.
• Provide feedback on work instructions and fixtures to improve repeatability.
• Other duties or projects as assigned.
