The Precision Oncology Account Executive is responsible for closing new business in the oncology specialized testing market. The role focuses on creating awareness, driving adoption, building complex molecular pathways, and generating demand and volume for Quest's precision oncology portfolio in community oncology and academic cancer centers. The Account Executive works closely with oncology clinical, pathology, and hospital account executives to support a collaborative selling model.

This is a field-based sales role covering North Bay north to the CA/OR border. The target compensation is $230,000 - $250,000, including a base salary and sales incentives, with uncapped earning potential at Quest Diagnostics. Base salary offers depend on skills, experience, education, certifications, and organizational factors.

Responsibilities
  1. Drive adoption and volume through new account activation and up-selling.
  2. Target and close new prospects in community and academic oncology centers.
  3. Build consensus on complex molecular pathways with multidisciplinary healthcare professionals.
  4. Develop workflows and clinical pathways, integrating into electronic medical records.
  5. Collaborate with client teams to gain consensus on workflows.
  6. Manage strategic accounts in oncology and health systems.
  7. Develop oncology thought leadership in the territory.
  8. Plan and execute clinical workflow adoption strategies.
  9. Work directly with regional account teams.
  10. Engage with medical affairs, operations, IT, and billing teams.
  11. Secure meetings and in-services with physicians and account targets.
  12. Provide expertise in precision oncology testing.
  13. Attend educational meetings and create awareness.
  14. Manage account depth and breadth for testing adoption.
  15. Prepare proposals and bids.
  16. Ensure compliance with policies and regulations.
  17. Complete administrative tasks thoroughly and promptly.
Qualifications

Work Experience:

  • Experience closing new business and expanding relationships in complex customer models, including health systems and large oncology groups.
  • At least five years in strategic account management, preferably in oncology biotech/lab/diagnostics.
  • Experience with new product launches and securing formulary or committee approval.
  • Proven sales or account management success.
  • Preferred experience in molecular oncology testing or biopharma therapies with diagnostics.

Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of the healthcare industry and business economics.

Education: Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree preferred.
