Job summary

Palmer Foundry, Inc. is seeking a No-Bake Molder to join our foundry team in Palmer, MA. You will form sand molds to fabricate metal castings using room-temperature chemical binding, ensuring quality and production standards. Experience with air-set resin systems is a plus and safety is emphasized.

The role involves detailed molding steps, sand packing, pattern placement, core handling, and coordinating with the team to maintain efficiency and accuracy in the casting process.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and write.
• Math skills: add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
• Reasoning to follow instructions and solve simple problems.
• Computer basics for reviewing work instructions.

Responsibilities

• Place flask and drag onto molding board and position pattern inside drag.
• Sprinkle or spray parting agent onto pattern and flask to help removal.
• Sift sand over pattern and compact around contours.
• Shovel and pack sand into the flask.
• Invert drag, set cope, and pattern, then repeat sand molding.
• Lift cope, remove pattern, and prepare mold.
• Cut runner and sprue into mold and repair impressions.
• Position cores into drag and reassemble cope and drag.
• Move/position work pieces or signal crane operator for handling.
• Pour molten metal into mold or direct Metal Pourer to fill mold.
• Form and assemble slab cores to reinforce mold.
