Job summary

Mergon is seeking a skilled welder/fabrication technician to join our manufacturing team. You will interpret blueprints, select tooling, and perform MIG and TIG welding to build structural frames and subassemblies.

You will prep stock, set up fixtures, cut, form, and fit components, verify dimensional accuracy, and collaborate with engineering to improve manufacturability, safety, and quality. A continuous improvement mindset is essential.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Fluent blueprint/engineering drawing reading.
• Continuous improvement mindset and practice.

Responsibilities

• Interpret engineering drawings and blueprints to fabricate metal parts and assemblies.
• Cut, weld, and shape components to build structural frames and machine subassemblies.
• Fit, assemble, and install fabricated structures per specification.
• Inspect work for dimensional accuracy and finish; adjust as needed to meet spec.
• Collaborate with engineering/design teams to ensure manufacturability and function.
