Job summary

Magna’s Liberty, MO site is seeking a Layout Technician to perform dimensional inspections using CMMs, portable CMMs, and Keyence scanners. You’ll ensure components meet engineering specs and produce dimensional reports from metrology data.

The role requires an associate degree or 3–5 years metrology experience, proficiency with PC-DMIS, and knowledge of GD&T. Expect a challenging environment with growth and strong quality focus.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree preferred, or 3–5 years metrology/quality/CMM experience
• Proficiency with PC-DMIS software for CMMs, measurement systems, and portable CMMs
• Strong GD&T understanding and ability to read blueprints/drawings

Responsibilities

• Program and operate CMMs, Keyence Scanners, portable CMMs, and other precision measurement equipment
• Perform dimensional layouts and inspections to verify product conformance to engineering specifications
• Analyze measurement data and prepare dimensional reports
• Conduct capability studies and support SPC/MSA activities
• Calibrate hand tools, gauges, and inspection equipment
• Evaluate check fixtures and coordinate corrective actions when issues are identified
• Develop gauging instructions and inspection methods
• Assist with sample submissions and quality documentation
• Support problem-solving, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Maintain metrology records and gauge management systems
