Job summary

Reliance Gear Corporation is seeking a quality-focused inspector for the production floor. You will own dimensional verification across first piece, in-process, and final inspections, while safeguarding the supply chain by inspecting incoming materials and approving outgoing orders.

You will read blueprints and control plans, program CMM routines with PC-DMIS or Modus, and operate a range of precision instruments.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of manufacturing and/or quality assurance experience.
• Skilled at blueprint reading and applying precision measurement tools.
• Competence in basic math and geometry.
• Proven calibration experience (required).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Experience with bevel gear manufacturing (preferred).
• Comfort working on a fast-paced production floor in a precision environment.

Responsibilities

• Own dimensional verification: first piece, in-process, and final inspections.
• Safeguard the supply chain by inspecting incoming materials and approving outgoing orders.
• Turn requirements into reality by reading blueprints, specs, and control plans.
• Program and execute CMM routines on manual and CNC systems (PC-DMIS / Modus preferred).
• Operate a full suite of instruments: micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, dial indicators, CMMs, Hofler gear inspection machine, tooth verniers.
• Maintain a compliant system through scheduled calibration and accurate records.
• Contain nonconformances, assist with corrective actions, and prevent recurrence.
• Coach operators on correct measurement techniques.
• Support PPAP / ISIR packages, capability studies, and first article documentation.
• Keep quality files, reports, and customer documentation organized and audit-ready.
• Contribute to internal audits and supplier quality activities.
