Job summary

GTC seeks a skilled quality inspector in Cincinnati, OH to translate specifications into precise inspection plans and verify dimensions with CMMs, micrometers, and other gauges. You will perform first-article inspections, diagnose variances, and recommend corrective actions to ensure components meet strict military specifications.

When something’s off, you diagnose root causes and recommend adjustments so that every casting, forging, fabrication, assembly, and machined component meets specification — the first time.Make sure the military gets the best product available by joining our team of expert inspectors.Eligibility & Compliance (verbatim)We are a Department of Defense Federal ContractorMust be US CitizenMust be 18 years of age or olderMust have clean criminal record (No felonies)Must be able to pass a drug testWhat you’ll accomplishInterpret engineering drawings and specifications to identify materials, finishes, tolerances, and dimensional requirements.Calculate angles, radii, and other derived dimensions using formulas and shop math.Measure length, height, distances, and angles using precision tools: CMMs, micrometers, V-blocks, sine bars, calipers, dial indicators, angle plates, snap gauges, gauge blocks, height gage, level protractors, optical comparators, bore gages, ultrasonic equipment, and a profilometer.Perform first-run and first-article inspections on fabrications and assemblies.Lay out reference points and centerlines on surface plates for castings, forgings, and finished parts.Document inspection and test results in clear, actionable reports.Analyze nonconformances, identify probable causes, and recommend corrective actions.What you bringHigh school diploma or GED.Approximately two years of quality inspection experience preferred.Training in Statistical Process Control (SPC) data collection and evaluation preferred.Manufacturing experience using a broad range of measurement gauges; aerospace or defense contract exposure preferred.Demonstrated problem-solving ability and sound judgment in determining effective courses of action.Vision requirements: Jaeger 1 at 12” (with corrective lenses) and the Ishihara Color Blindness Test.
