Earle-M.-Jorgensen-Company in Kansas City, MO is seeking a Machine Operator to set up, operate, and monitor machines to produce high-quality materials. You will read blueprints, pull and cut orders, and ensure accuracy and safety in a fast-paced warehouse/plant environment.

The role requires 1–2 years of experience, a high school diploma or GED, and the ability to obtain certification for motorized material handling equipment. Strong teamwork and precise measurement skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Valid Driver’s License preferred.
• Experience in warehousing or material handling is preferred.
• Ability to obtain certification to operate motorized material handling and rigging equipment.
• Clear oral and written communication; legible handwriting.
• Manual dexterity, coordination, and physical fitness to operate heavy equipment.
• Ability to read and comprehend work instructions and blueprints.
• Basic math and measurement skills, including fractions and conversions.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, multi-task effectively, and make sound decisions.
• Teamwork and collaboration with supervisors and coworkers.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret work orders to determine specifications, materials, and instructions for processing.
• Verify heat numbers and confirm that the correct material type is used for each work order.
• Pull and/or cut orders as directed by the Assistant Manager Plant Operations or Plant Manager Operations, ensuring accuracy, quality, and efficiency.
• Maintain general cleanliness and organization of the work area and plant as needed.
• Move trucks or trailers on company premises when required, following all safety procedures.
