Job summary

VDL Industries Gainesville is seeking a Metal Finishing Associate to perform deburring, grinding, polishing, and other finishing steps on metal parts to meet blueprint specs. You will use sanders, grinders, calipers, and finishing machines, and you’ll record production data in the ERP system while ensuring safety and quality standards.

Key tasks include interpreting blueprints, following work orders, and maintaining a clean, organized work area with proper PPE.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in metal finishing, fabrication, or manufacturing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform metal finishing operations including deburring, grinding, polishing, buffing, cut-off operations, and straightening of metal parts.
• Utilize tools such as sanders, grinders, calipers, hammers, polishing wheels, deburring machines, drills, and hand tools.
• Operate finishing equipment including Time Saver machines and vibratory tumbling machines.
• Finish metal products according to manufacturing specifications and production requirements.
• Inspect finished parts to verify conformance with specifications.
• Track and record completed parts in the ERP system to ensure accurate production records.
