Job summary

BorgWarner is seeking a 3rd shift Metal Finisher/Handler at Plant 2 in Ithaca, NY. The role involves loading, operating, and monitoring metal finishing equipment to meet exact specifications, with emphasis on safety and accurate reporting.

Responsibilities include handling materials with forklifts and related gear, disassembly/reassembly of components, and performing precision gauging and SPC tasks as part of daily operations.

Qualifications

• Receive and follow supervisor instructions and routing tickets to meet manufacturing specs.
• Transports material using appropriate equipment (fork trucks, hand trucks, hoists).
• Operate and monitor metal finishing equipment with care and safety procedures.
• Complete SPC requirements and maintain accurate processing reports.

Responsibilities

• Load, unload, set-up, operate, and monitor metal processing and finishing equipment.
• Maintain accurate processing reports and transport material between areas.
• Disassemble/reassemble specific parts on equipment as required.
• Perform mathematical computations involving decimals as part of inspections and quality checks.
• Adhere to BorgWarner Safety Policy and report injuries or hazards.
