Job summary

The role requires strong blueprint-reading skills, precise manual dexterity, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team in a metalworking shop environment. This is a full-time on-site position in Atlanta.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a metalworking/manufacturing role.
• Fluent reading of blueprints, plans and technical drawings.
• Familiar with arc, gas, MIG/TIG welding techniques.
• Ability to operate hand tools and shop equipment accurately.
• Physical stamina for long periods of standing and lifting.
• Good communication and ability to work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications to determine materials and fabrication process.
• Use hand tools, power tools, and equipment such as saws, grinders, drills, and welding machines to shape and join metal pieces.
• Measure and mark dimensions on metal pieces using rulers, squares or templates.
• Cut or shear metal pieces using saws or shears.
• Weld or solder metal pieces using various welding techniques.
• Grind rough spots on metal pieces using hand files or grinders.
• Inspect finished products for quality before installation or delivery.
• Repair damaged or worn metal structures by replacing damaged sections.
