Job summary

SQA Services, Inc. in Zeeland, MI is seeking a Quality Mechanical Source Inspector to perform precision verifications on mechanical parts, components, assemblies, and materials to ensure conformance to drawings and specifications.

You will read manufacturing drawings, apply GD&T, and document results with handheld tools and, when needed, CMMs. The position requires 3+ years of experience, Associate degree preferred, and on-site work with limited travel.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on inspection experience with precision mechanical parts.
• Ability to read and interpret manufacturing drawings and standards.
• Proficiency in GD&T and validating dimensions with hand tools.
• Experience with certificates of conformance and inspection documentation.
• Comfortable using electronic tablets to record data.

Responsibilities

• Perform precision inspection verifications on mechanical parts, components, assemblies, and materials.
• Inspect purchased parts, in-process and final assemblies for workmanship and conformance to drawings.
• Conduct surface plate inspections of first articles and samples as required.
• Utilize micrometers, gauge blocks, dial indicators, height gauges, optical comparators, profilometers, and CMMs when needed.
• Verify documentation packages to industry standards and classify defect types.
