Job summary

Oberg Industries is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Technician for our Freeport, PA facility. You will maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and improve production machinery and equipment, applying your mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic knowledge.

You will read manuals and blueprints, use test equipment, and perform preventive maintenance. The role involves welding, fabrication, basic machining, and collaborating with other departments to keep equipment running smoothly.

Qualifications

• Hands-on maintenance experience in manufacturing or similar environments.
• Ability to read blueprints and equipment documentation.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
• Valid driver's license and forklift operation ability.

Responsibilities

• Observe machinery and equipment while in operation and listen for unusual sounds to help identify potential problems.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose basic mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues.
• Disassemble equipment to access, inspect, and replace defective or worn components.
• Repair, replace, adjust, and install machine parts and components.
• Perform preventive and scheduled maintenance on production equipment.
• Respond to emergency and unscheduled equipment repairs.
• Lubricate and maintain machinery to help ensure reliable operation.
• Read and follow equipment manuals, work orders, blueprints, and maintenance instructions.
• Use test equipment and hands‑on troubleshooting techniques to identify and correct equipment problems.
• Set up and operate basic machine tools such as grinders, drills, and jigs.
• Perform basic welding and fabrication.
• Order or assist with obtaining replacement parts and supplies.
• Work with other departments to help keep production equipment running efficiently.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
