Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 2+ years mechanical assembly experience preferred in packaging/automation.
  • Able to read and interpret mechanical drawings and BOMs.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble packaging machinery from SolidWorks models, drawings, and BOMs.
  • Install frames, conveyors, bearings, shafts, and guarding.
  • Perform alignment, leveling, torquing, and adjustments to spec.
  • Identify drawing or fit-up issues and coordinate with engineering to resolve.
  • Document build issues, change requests, and improvements.
  • Assist in machine testing, dry-runs, and shipping preparation.

You'll use your mechanical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities while partnering with Engineering and Operations to ensure equipment is built safely, accurately, and to high-quality standards.Essential Job Functions:* Assemble packaging machinery, equipment, conveyance and sub-assemblies from SolidWorks 3D models, drawings, work instructions and BOMs, may include new equipment, upgrades or rebuilds.* Interpret mechanical drawings, exploded views, tolerances, and assembly sequences.* Ability to read and work from SolidWorks drawings and 3D models preferred* Ability to read BOMs and follow detailed assembly instructions.* Install mechanical components including frames, conveyors, bearings, shafts, actuators, gearboxes, guarding, and fasteners.* Perform mechanical alignment, leveling, torquing, and adjustment to specification.* Identify drawing or fit-up issues and partner with engineering to resolve discrepancies.* Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring tools, must possess basic personal hand tools required for the job.* Verify assemblies meet quality, safety, and functional requirements.* Support machine testing, dry-runs, and troubleshooting prior to shipment.* Accurately document build issues, change requests, and improvements.* Work closely with engineering and other production team members to ensure accurate documentation and resolve issues.* May prepare equipment for shipping, including crating.* Flexibility to take on evolving responsibilities in response to strategic priorities and business needs.* Willingness to work overtime as needed.* Perform other duties as assignedBasic Qualifications and Requirements:* High School Diploma or GED equivalent* 2+ years of mechanical assembly experience, preferably in packaging, automation, conveyance, or build-to-print/engineered-to-order environment#LI-JK2*At Barry-Wehmiller we recognize that people come with a wealth of experience and talent beyond just the technical requirements of a job.
