Job summary

Default Brand in Sterling, VA is seeking a Manufacturing Technician to follow SOPs and GMP while safely producing extended-wear contact lens products, which are Class III medical devices.

You will perform inspection, packaging, labeling, and shipping, manage inventory, and ensure accurate paperwork for traceability, with 1–2 years of manufacturing experience preferred and strong attention to detail, and participate in continuous improvement to optimize production efficiency and product quality.

Qualifications

  • High-school diploma or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to check for defects and identify and distinguish between colors.
  • Ability to read and carefully follow instructions and standard operating procedures.
  • Excellent attention to detail and good organization.
  • Capable of working independently to a production schedule.
  • 1-2 years’ prior manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Medical device manufacturing strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Blocking, lathing, surface and optical inspection, polishing and final inspection.
  • Material Issue, Packaging, Labeling & Shipping.
  • Managing inventory of manufacturing, packaging & shipping supplies.
  • Ensuring accuracy of device parameters using inspection equipment.
  • Accurate completion of paperwork to ensure product acceptance and traceability.
