Job summary

Aerotek is seeking an Operator for a large-scale manufacturing environment in Bethel, CT. You will work hands-on with machinery, measuring tools, and production processes, learning floor operations and supporting production teams.

Responsibilities include backfilling, training new team members, participating in process improvements, and using QAD for scrap/effectiveness reporting. Overtime may be required as production dictates.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in manufacturing or trades.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematics.
• Proficient with precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers).
• Comfort with decimals and basic math.
• Experience with machine operation and production processes.
• Ability to perform inspections.
• Lean manufacturing awareness (5S, Kanban).
• Willingness to work overtime.
• Strong safety and housekeeping mindset.
• Ability to work in cleanroom/controlled environments.

Responsibilities

• Learn and perform floor operations and production processes.
• Backfill and support production roles as needed.
• Participate in interviewing, hiring, training new team members.
• Assist in pay rate settings per company guidelines.
• Collaborate with Operations to prioritize work orders and meet targets.
• Record labor hours in company software and maintain documentation.
• Review time-off requests to avoid production conflicts.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area with 5S practices.
• Manage the KANBAN system to ensure proper material flow.
• Use QAD or similar systems to create scrap and efficiency reports.
• Process ECOs to adjust run times, setups, parameters.
• Determine work techniques to optimize efficiency and quality.
• Adhere to safety and attendance policies.
• Lead by example in disciplinary processes with objective evidence.
• Handle conflict resolution professionally.
• Work overtime when needed and perform other duties.
