Responsibilities

• Sets up and operates all types of machine tools and performs layout, fitting and assembly work.
• Operates lathe and related equipment to machine iron, steel and alloy to finished size and surface.
• Makes and repairs tools, rigs, fixtures, gauges, templates, dies, and machine parts.
• Dismantles, fits, aligns and adjusts machinery to close tolerances.
• Works alone or directs other workpersons as required.
