Job summary

GWS Tool Group in Nashville, TN is seeking a Manual Grinder to operate with chamfer grinders and other manual machines to produce premium quality, high precision cutting tools. You will verify accuracy by using engineering prints and specifications and assemble final products to print specs.

Responsibilities include setup, blueprints study, fixture selection, and maintaining tight tolerances. Requires 1+ year shop experience, GED or better, and familiarity with basic metalworking machines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Certification in machining is preferred but not required.
• Minimum of 1 year machine shop experience is required.
• Experience with surface grinders is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up and adjust offsets as required.
• Study blueprints and drawings to determine dimensions and setup.
• Verify finished workpiece conforms to specifications.
• Select, align, and secure fixtures, tools, attachments, and material on machines.
• Calculate and set controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, depth, and angle.
• Check machinery daily for proper function.
• Follow prints and bill of materials to assemble final product.
• Other duties as assigned.
