Job summary

Abbott in Minnesota is seeking a Machinist II to join the Woodridge: St. Paul facility in the Structural Heart division. You will set up, adjust and operate various machines to meet close tolerance specifications, plan sequences, tooling, speeds and feeds, and maintain equipment.

The role requires initiative, accuracy and teamwork in a fast-paced environment. The position offers a first shift (6am–2:30pm) with potential overtime, competitive base pay, and extensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• AA degree in Mechanical Technology or equivalent trade/military training.
• Minimum 4 years of manual and CNC machining experience.
• Ability to read blueprints and use precision inspection instruments.
• Strong verbal and written communication, interpersonal, organizational, and math skills.
• Must maintain proficiency in process certifications.
• Experience in a matrixed, cross-division environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up, adjust, and operate machines for close tolerance parts.
• Plan sequences, select tooling, spindle speeds, feeds for setups.
• Maintain and clean machines; report technical difficulties.
• Work first shift; overtime and weekend work may be required.
