Job summary

Cummins Inc. is seeking a shop-level operator to machine and fabricate raw materials into finished goods. The role emphasizes quality checks, adherence to process documentation, team-based efforts, and safety compliance.

You will handle machining, rework, data collection, and continuous improvement within a on-site manufacturing environment. The position requires basic machining experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, and a willingness to follow specific procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED or equivalent required. Must pass all related testing.
• Minimal relevant experience required. Six months work experience preferred.
• Some machining experience is recommended but not required.

Responsibilities

• Uses a variety of machines to remove metal or fabricate products from castings or raw materials to meet customer specs.
• Follows process documentation to perform quality checks using gages and measuring devices.
• Operates and participates as a team member to meet safety, quality and production goals.
• Maintains clean and orderly work area and performs routine maintenance tasks.
• Performs rework and scrap transactions and controls nonconforming materials.
• Collects, analyzes and displays operating data and uses problem-solving techniques when issues arise.
