Job summary

Emerson is seeking a skilled machinist to select and secure fixtures, load materials, and machine parts according to blueprints. You will use micrometers, profilometers and other precision tools to ensure accuracy on band saws, grinders and shapers.

The role requires a HS diploma or GED and 1–3 years in manufacturing, the ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 70 lbs, and strong teamwork.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or demonstrated ability to read, write, and perform math at a high school level.
• 1–3 years of manufacturing experience.
• Experience using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, profilometers, air gages, etc.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 70 lbs.
• Willingness to perform other duties as assigned and to work in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and material on machines.
• Load raw materials into the machine and handle materials that come out of the machine.
• Measure, mark, and scribe dimensions and reference points on materials or work pieces as guides for machining.
• Machine parts based on blueprints and work instructions.
• Use precision measuring instruments to verify conformance of finished work pieces to specifications.
