Job summary

VTG in San Diego, CA (NAS North Island) seeks a Tool Room Attendant to support precision machining operations and tool room activities.

High school completion preferred; base pay is $21.98 per hour as a general guideline for the location.

Qualifications

• Education: Successful completion of high school is preferred.
• Experience: Experience in a tool and parts distribution role of similar scope is preferred.
• Other Qualifications: Ability to perform physical activities and outdoor work in various conditions.

Responsibilities

• Operate one or more machine tools to machine metal for jigs, fixtures, and dies.
• Plan and perform machining operations with precise setups and accuracy.
• Set up machines, adjust feeds/speeds, and use precision measuring instruments to ensure tight tolerances.
• Select appropriate coolants and dress tools as needed.
