Job summary

V2X Inc in Indianapolis is hiring a Machine Parts Inspector II (CMM Programmer) to perform detailed inspections on precision machined parts, castings, forgings and sheet metal components. The role emphasizes first article, in-process and final inspections, using CMMs and related software.

Ideal candidates have at least 6 years of mechanical inspection experience, strong GD&T knowledge (ANSI Y14.5), and the ability to work to AS9100 and DoD standards. U.S.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 years of mechanical inspection or machining experience.
• Proficiency in operation and management of CMM and associated software.
• Thorough understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing per ANSI Y14.5.
• Proficient in advanced shop mathematical calculations and basic measurement tools.
• Excellent time-management, organizational, and communication skills.
• U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain a U.S. DoD security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Mechanical inspection of parts including first article, in-process, and final.
• Verification of materials and processes and verification of certifications from sub-tier vendors.
• Completion of all applicable paperwork (working to AS9100 standards).
• Performance of various other quality tasks to ensure timely delivery of precision machined parts.
• Use manual and programmable Coordinate Measurement Machine (CMM) to obtain precision measurements.
• Program and operate programmable CMM equipment and part setup instruction files.
• Experience with 3D scanning equipment and data management is desirable.
• Document inspection results by completing forms, logs, and reports.
• Train and mentor other inspectors and perform related duties to comply with AS9100 and customer specs.
• Maintain cleanliness of work area and proper handling of tools and stock.
