Job summary

JL INDUSTRIES INC in Portland, OR is seeking a dedicated Machine Operator to safely assist journeyman machinists and learn the trade. The role is full-time, Monday through Thursday, 6am to 4:30pm, with every weekend as a three-day break.

You will read blueprints, inspect dimensions with micrometers and calipers, and keep machines running by loading parts. The job requires lifting up to 50 lbs and adherence to safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Ability to accurately read and interpret precision measurements and drawings.
• Capable of following written and verbal instructions with care and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Operate machinery under supervision of Journeyman Machinists.
• Read blueprints and perform assigned production operations.
• Inspect product dimensions with micrometers and calipers.
• Make minor machine adjustments to stay within tolerances.
• Ensure safe work practices and follow written instructions.
• Load parts or bar stock to keep machines running.
• Lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods.
