Job summary

Alfa Laval is seeking a Machine Operator to join our Tulsa/Broken Arrow area manufacturing team. You will set up, operate, and maintain conventional and special-purpose machinery to fabricate precision structural parts, read blueprints, and ensure quality while following safety policies.

Comfortable with lifting, using precision measuring tools, and working around overhead cranes and forklifts; candidates should have a HS diploma or GED and some manufacturing experience.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED preferred.
• 1 year of manufacturing experience preferred.
• Basic math including tape measure and calipers.
• Reading blueprints preferred.
• Experience using industrial machines preferred.
• Forklift certification preferred.
• Overhead crane experience preferred.
• Proficiency with equipment: radial drills, fin tube machinery, large vertical band saws, presses, breaks and shears.

Responsibilities

• Provide materials to workstations and locations as needed.
• Read blueprints or instructions for job specifications.
• Set up, operate, and maintain machines, including loading, machining, unloading, and deburring.
• Measure, mark, and scribe dimensions for accuracy.
• Select and secure tools, fixtures, accessories, and materials.
• Monitor machine operations, detect malfunctions, and make adjustments.
• Replace and install machined parts, ensuring proper functionality.
• May install machined replacement parts and test operation for functionality and performance.
• Maintain machine and associated tools with limited assistance.
• Use precision measuring devices to check work and troubleshoot issues; escalate when needed.
• Troubleshoot incoming problems; communicate with Lead or Supervisor for assistance.
• Transport product to assigned department.
• Rig and transport structures using overhead cranes and forklifts.
• Follow instructions; assist team leaders or managers.
• Assist Team Leader with various tasks and training others as needed.
• Crosstrain in different areas to enhance team flexibility.
• Maintain a tidy work area during and after each shift.
• Perform other assigned tasks; prioritize safety and company policies.
• All employees prioritize safety and promote safe practices and report unsafe conditions.
