Job summary

Reliance, Inc. Kansas City facility is seeking a Machine Operator to set up, operate and monitor steel and aluminum processing equipment. You will pull, fill, and cut orders while reading blueprints and job orders to meet specifications.

You will inspect finished parts with gauges and calipers, ensure quality, and maintain a clean, safe work area. This position requires 1-2 years of related experience and a High School diploma or GED.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Valid Driver's License preferred.
• Experience in warehousing or material handling is preferred.
• Ability to obtain certification to operate motorized material handling and rigging equipment.
• Clear oral and written communication; legible handwriting.
• Manual dexterity, coordination, and physical fitness to operate heavy equipment.
• Ability to read and comprehend work instructions and blueprints.
• Basic math and measurement skills, including fractions and conversions.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, multi-task effectively, and make sound decisions.
• Teamwork and collaboration with supervisors and coworkers.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret work orders to determine specifications, materials, and instructions for processing.
• Verify heat numbers and confirm that the correct material type is used for each work order.
• Pull and/or cut orders as directed by the Assistant Manager Plant Operations or Plant Manager Operations, ensuring accuracy, quality, and efficiency.
• Maintain general cleanliness and organization of the work area and plant as needed.
• Move trucks or trailers on company premises when required, following all safety procedures
