Responsibilities

• Measure completed work pieces to verify conformance to specifications.
• Examine completed work pieces for defects and sort defective pieces by flaw type.
• Read work orders or production schedules to determine specs and tolerances.
• Load work pieces, plastic material, or chemical solutions into machines.
• Set up, operate, or tend machines to saw, cut, shear, slit, punch, crimp, notch, bend, or straighten material.
• Start machines, monitor operations, and record data.
• Test and adjust machine speeds or actions according to product specs.
• Install dies, cutting blades, or fixtures using gauges and tools.
• Clean and lubricate machines.
• Position and secure work pieces against fixtures or stops on machine beds.
• Other duties as assigned.
