Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 1–3 years in manufacturing or a related mechanical field.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and assembly instructions.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments.
• Sound knowledge of fitting, drilling, tapping, and alignment procedures.
• Solid math skills for measurements and calculations.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Valid driver's license or willingness to obtain certification.
• Ability to lift, move, and position machine components safely.
• Commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Assemble mechanical components, subassemblies, and machines from drawings and blueprints.
• Position, align, and install components to precise specifications.
• Fasten parts using bolts, screws, rivets, and clips.
• Install electrical enclosures and related components.
• Perform precision fitting using filing, honing, drilling, and tapping.
• Use micrometers, dial indicators, and gauges to verify dimensions.
• Test equipment and perform functional checks.
• Assist with startup, verify controls and wiring, and troubleshoot as needed.
• Communicate material and tooling needs to support schedules.
• Operate overhead cranes, forklifts, and other material handling equipment safely.
• Maintain a safe, organized work area and support continuous improvement.
